Change of volume name
francismcphail
I am hoping someone can help with this. We have a server which has two drive letters available in it.
C: (No volume ame)
(Volume name : DATA)
We recently added more disks and as such have added them to SW for monitoring (v7.8) and all is good.
Now if I change a volume name of a disk so they look like this
C: SYSTEM
SQL
E: DATA
SW stops polling the drives (C *& D Drives). But if I change the volume names back to what they were then the system begins polling them again.
Questions.
- Why does it do this?
- What is best practice when renaming volumes. We want to keep the existing data for historial purposes.
Thanks.
