Applying a template is generating an error Generic Faillure

On one of our Windows 2003 server I have problems with applying a template.

This template is used on many servers. I have checked the other 2003 servers, but the are identical.

Removing and applying the template again doesn't help.

2 other templates are on this server are working fine.

What else can I try? I also have restarted the server for an other issue but that didn't solve this problem.

Have you tried to test WMI connectivity between the SAM server and the target server using wbemtest to ensure WMI connectivity is there?  Have you tried using RPC as the fetching method.  Finally, have you logged into the SAM server as the account you are using for the template and tried to connect to the Event Viewer on that server from the SAM server.  This would let you know if the issue is with the application, or with communicating to that specific server.
