Posting Orion variables to APM Component Monitors

Hi,

Im trying to to use the following Orion node variables,

${SNMPVersion} ${Community}

(info from here: www.solarwinds.com/.../wwhelp.htm

to the Command Line: field of a APM Component Monitor.

However, when troubleshooting, it seems like these variables never are sent to the script which gets executed.

Any comments on this?

Those variables you are trying to use are only for making Alerts. They aren't available for the command line field of an APM component.

If this is the Linux/Unix component monitor, the only valid variable I know for the Command Line field is ${SCRIPT}.

Thanks for the info.

If that is the case, I think Solarwind should rework poor quality templates like the

"Linux/Unix Operating System" template which uses snmp and then have to fall back

to in script hard coded SNMP info, instead of reusing the SNMP values associated with

the host.

By vague information makes it time consuming for new APM users to get it up and running.

I have just encountered a version of this (very weak programming) in regards to Case 234974.

As far as I can tell, the UNIX/LINUX script is of zero use w/o a variable for Community String and Version; and probabaly requires V3 credential variables as well.

I am very disappointed; this does not appear to work at all!
