Orion TX and RX information

Hi,

I'm trying to understand better how Orion NPM collects the TX and RX information (Min/Max/Avg bps In/Out) from my Cisco routers. Does Orion collect the 5 minute input/output rate from the serial interface in the Cisco router? or Does it collect the IfInOctects and IfOutOctects information and makes it own calculation?

It uses the InOctets and OutOctets counters.
