Auto Start windows Service

Hi All,

I am having issues getting an alert trigger action to auto restart a service can anyone point me in the right direction ?

I have the sam template monitoring the two services required using a "windows Service Monitor"

I then have the below as a trigger condition, component names are the services being monitored by the SAM template

and the status is equal to down

at this point the alert does trigger however I can not get solarwinds to auto restart the service, I have added an action of "Execute an External Program" and have the following setup

Any ideas what's wrong with this ?

I've not tried having the auto-restart action run against two down services in the same alert.  Since you write that your Alert is triggering as you intend, I assume you only want to alert when both services are down at the same time (the AND condition you've used rather than OR of both services being stopped).  The external restart program accepts just one component ID parameter to identify the service it should restart - does it just restart one of them then?  Or is it not restarting either?  I wonder if it gets heartburn because it has more than one downed service to choose from, perhaps...
