Best Practice to Upgrade

I'm looking to upgrade Cirrus to a faster server. At the same time, I would like to move from a MSDE backend to SQL Server 2000 running on another server. Is there a recommended way to upgrade? IE - Install from scratch, create the new dummy db, backup MSDE and then restore MSDE table to SQL table?? Thanks!

I would use the DB Manger in SW and make a backup of you existing DB. Copy that to your new DB server. Using the MS SQL DB Tool restore that DB. If can be the same file name even. You can then run the configuration wizard on your current server and try to connect to the new DB server. If it works great. They you can proceed and build your new Cirrus box and then connect it to the new DB sever.

Worst case is you just build a new server and DB server and start from scratch.
