Removing APM 2.5

My EVAL period ended, NPM is now broken. I've read an earlier post related to this but am checking to see if there are better instructions/procedures to follow. I don't want to have to re-install NPM! Nothing is working correctly now, can't click on any nodes and get information.

You should also edit your Node Details view. The reason you can't view it is because there are APM resources on that view. If you go to Manage Views, you can remove the APM resources from your Node Details pages. Once this is done, you should be able to view those pages again.

Hi,

Open the Add/Remove Programs utility

Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs

Select the APM module and remove it.

Repair the webconsole to remove the Modules links

Empty the \Inetpub\Solarwinds\Orion folder
Start > All Programs > Solarwinds Orion > (Configuration and Auto-Discovery >) Configuration Wizard
Select website and click on next.
Follow the steps

Remove the remaining tables from the database.

Stop the Orion Services and then Backup your database.

Start > All Programs > Solarwinds Orion > Advanced Features > Orion Service Manager

Stop Everything.

Open Database Manager

Start > All Programs > Solarwinds Orion > Advanced Features/Database Utilities > Database Manager

Right-Click on one of the table of your Orion database and select Query Table.

Clean the default query and paste the below query. Click on refresh to execute a query.

Remove APM 2.5 Tables

USE NetPerfMon;  the name of the database might be different on your installation modify this line according to your database name.

Eventually repair the Orion NPM installation and re-apply the latest service pack once done.

I did the DB maintenance items after removing APM. I checked the manage views and removed references to APM. When I click on an object to get a node view I get this in the "Active Alerts" section near the bottom, I am trying to get rid of this and have active alerts show:

The "Top XX Components by Response Time" resource is missing.
The file ~/Orion/APM/Resources/Node/NodeTopXXByResponseTime.ascx is not found.

The "Top XX Processes by CPU Load" resource is missing.
The file ~/Orion/APM/Resources/Node/NodeTopXXByCpuLoad.ascx is not found.

The "Top XX Processes by Physical Memory" resource is missing.
The file ~/Orion/APM/Resources/Node/NodeTopXXByPhysicalMemory.ascx is not found.

The "Top XX Processes by Virtual Memory" resource is missing.
The file ~/Orion/APM/Resources/Node/NodeTopXXByVirtualMemory.ascx is not found.

OK, from manage views I deleted the "Top XX" business from the view. Will Active Alerts still show when there's an alert for the node?
