How about making AppInsight for Exchange present rational metrics?

We're rolling out Exchange 2013 and moved monitoring form SCOM to SAM. Yeah! We have one server with too high a percent of RPC requests failures, around 3%. SAM alerts for it

More yeah!

Now for the whining...

SAM reports the following:

On the host [Correct_Hostname], Microsoft Exchange component RPC Requests failed (%) is in Critical.

Component Message:

Statistical data: 2.88591599464417

Seriously folks? 14 decimal places? No way to round it off? How is 2.88591599464417 any more informative than 2.9%?

It just looks stupid.

You have the code for metric conversion in most other templates. This 'aint rocket sciences.

Also, where I can round it off in the Web GUI, it still passes the un-rounded data to the alert as metric data. That one is probably harder

The statistics within the Orion web interface for AppInsight application cannot be manipulated. The correct solution here is to round this number as you suggested above, which should be occurring. Unfortunately it's not, which is a bug. As such we are tracking this internally under SAM-1718.
