Distributed Architecture

Hi All,

We are in processing of setting as distributed Monitoring setup across 5 geographical locations . Can anyone share the architecture diagram how SAM.NPM,NCM,VMAN works with this.

No, EOC is not mandatory. It rolls up certain status/alerts into a single pain of glass. Specifically for creating a centralized NOC view. Each distributed instance of SolarWinds will still handle the polling, alerting, reporting and web console.

So each site has single orion server with its own SQL DB and it will be connected to central site ?

EOC is not a requirement. I've done many globally distributed installs that just used additional pollers and additional web servers. You have to have a decent link back from the APE to the core DB but it definitely works. I typically only use EOC in cases where there are multiple existing solarwinds environments that we need to merge data from, or when different regions are supposed to administer their instances independently.
