Most companies have some kind of internal process documented for how they handle SSL certs, but roughly the work flow would be similar to this guide IIS 8 and 8.5 SSL Renewal Instructions -DigiCert.com
You might have an internal cert server that you would submit the request to, or you may use one of the third party providers that offer this service.
