Can we activate licenses on same server with multiple SWID

Hi,

Just wanted to check if we can use multiple SWID license on same solarwinds server.

For Example - Currently SAM ALX and NPM SL500 installed on single server which are tagged in single SWID. Now customer bought NPM SLX and want to activate on solariwnds server to increase the monitoring (SWID is different) .

Can we activate the NPM SLX on NPM SL500? will there be any impact because of two different SWID's for SAM and NPM?

Technically it works but you should consider merging the 2 SWID in to one or it could get confusing for support when you open a ticket.

You still need to consider the legal implications of licensing of Solarwinds products ( for example i think that the licences are not resalable or transmittable ).

The only time i had problems when using multiple SWID was when i tried to use an US purchased licensed on a EU server that had a licence already purchased in EU; the licence could no longer be deactivated without the support help. This was before the online licence manager so no idea if the problem is fixed.

There will be no impact because of the different SWID just obviously they cannot use the NPM SLX on any other server. I would deactivate the NPM SL500 first then activate the SLX license.

Yes i knew technically it's possible but for safer side just wanted to confirm from solarwinds before making any decision. They confirmed its possible we can do but the maintenance for NPM will be taken care by SWID used for NPM license.
