Should I change all of my alerts now that we have Dependencies?

I was wondering if I could edit all of my alerts to remove the condition that the node has to be up before alerts are fired on down interfacse and applications.

Won't the implied dependencies of applications and interfaces being monitored on a given node negate the need to state that the node must be up for the alert to trigger?

Are there any cases in which I still need to state such conditions?

For SLA's groups and dependencies give you a method to measure a business process SLA. For example a web ordering system could be dependent on web site status, back end process servers and network elements.

Yes, you could remove those. I recommend a couple of things here,

Make sure the changes are consistent with Brandons post on this feature.
Test before you roll out to all alerts
