Ok, this is sort of a vent concerning ver9. We have large network, 30,000 devices spread over 3 pollers. Our problem both on ver 8.5 and still on ver 9.0 is we can't display or schedule network wide trend reports from the web interface. The interface times out long before the data displays. We've tried with the support desks suggestion to increase the time out with no success. That leaves us with display reports via the System Manger interface. The problem with this is we can't schedule and automate send of these reports from the System Manager interface resulting in a totally manual process to get chart and graph reports to our execs. We can do tabular reports all day long from the web interface but our execs don't want to see tabular reports. I can't see that the reporting functionality for Ver 9 is any different than the previous version and there certainly was lots of dialog and hype that it would be. We actually dumped a competitors product to use Orion with the understanding that the functionality would be there in a future release. How future is future.
