Min / Max Average CPU Load and Average CPU Load question

I'm sure this has been dealt with many times but I can't find the answer in the forums and don't think this requires a support call.

When looking at the Node Details for a linux box, I found one that is showing pegged CPU in both the average cpu load graph and the corresponding average cpu load graph.

But when I snmp browse the server or go onto it and run a top, the server is idle.

Question: How is the "Min / Max Average CPU Load" computed?

Question: Why doesn't the CPU load match the snmp CPU load values?

Also, if you haven't already checked; you might want to make sure that system has the most up-to-date net-snmp agent running on it.

I know that this has been answered in the forums because I personally have asked before as well. Unfortunately I am having trouble finding that thread because the search functionality for Thwack seems to be lacking.

What I found more useful was to add a Load Average poller to all of our Linux/Unix systems. Below is my custom poller that you can use if you are interested. If I end up finding the original post on this I will be sure to let you know the answer.

Nice poller and it does show better numbers.

I think my actual problem is something on the agent side. Of 300+ Linux boxes, only one is showing this 100% cpu load problem.

I'm going to get our Sysadmins to take a look and perhaps reboot the system.
