Multipe config commands for a device in a template ?

Hi All,

 

is it possible to add multiple commands for a single device?  Ive read the manual but does not state anything for multiple commands.

I am trying to get multiple config files off a nexus switch

within my tenmplate I have 

<Command Name="Startup" Value="running"/>

<Command Name="Running" Value="run include-switch-profile"/>

 

What i would like is to add further lines which will backup for files for this device ie show fec, sh vlan etc....

Hello, Zabeel.

You can manually run command scripts against any of your devices by selecting the device (or hold down the Ctrl key if selecting more than one), then right-clicking on the device and choosing Execute Command Script.

In the new windows that  open, key in your script in the lower window, double-check it for accuracy, consider the impact to your end users if you run the script (you don't want to cause any outages while users are relying on the network), and then click the button on the bottom that says "Execute Command Script."

On the lower right, you can also Save Script, and then later Load Script from any script you've saved.  That makes re-running scripts easy.

A simple example:  After daylight savings time changes here, all our clocks should have automatically moved ahead or back one hour, based on NTP.  I check all our Cisco devices with one click using a very simple script:  "show clock".  Do this by right-clicking on Cisco, choosing Execute Command Script, and either typing in the script or recalling it if you've already saved it.  Hit the Execute Command Script button and the job runs, showing you the time on every device.

 

If you need an automated method of running scripts on a scheduled basis, you may be able to copy and then modify existing Device's scripts in the \NCM\DeviceTypes folder.  Make sure you give each one a new name, so you don't over-write a script you are already using for backups.  The online documentation should be able to give you enough help so that you can make this work.
