Alerts

Hi all,

I set up an alert that goes as follows:

NodeName is equal to *

VolumePercentUsed is greater than or equal to 80

FullName is equal to *

Basically I want an alert when any drive on any system is at 80%. Well apparently my alert isnt correct as I ran out of space on my exchange log drive today! When I look at the alerts screen, it doesnt even recognize there is an alert but when I look at the system in the web interface it does know its over 80% and reports the correct almost full amount. Can someone tell my why my alert is wrong?

Did you change the drop down above where you specify critea for the alert? Also get rid of the NodeName and FuleName parts and see what that does, Orion should alert for all drives unless you specify a certain group of them, with that * I am thinking Orion is looking for a NodeName of * not a wildcard.

Try:

VolumeType is equal to FixedDisk

VolumePercentUsed is greater than or equal to 80

and set the alert "type of property to monitor" to Volume
