Windows Event Log Details in Email

Hi all, New to SAM here, about to purchase to upgrade Ipmonitor.

I've figured out how to make a Windows Event Log trigger on Errors , but I'm trying to figure out how i can include some details from the actual error such as Event ID , Event Description, Etc.

I'm just trying SAM RC with the new web based alerts... When i got to INSERT Variable into my Email Action Message, I cant find the WindowsEventMessages variable referenced in the below thread.

I'm sure I'm doing this wrong so hopefully someone can tell me what to do.

Can you provide screenshots of your Alert definition?

Here is the trigger, and a screenshot of the Trigger Action -> Email Message - I tried copying some of the strings mentioned in the above referenced thread manually as well since i couldn't find using "Insert Variable" but no luck

Ah. You are using SAM v6.2 RC. The alerting macros are different for web based alerting. The Advanced Alert Manager should still be available on the SAM server. Try defining the alert the old way. I will try to do the same with the web based alerting later on

BTW (not that it will make a difference), the screenshot has a slight typo - should be ${ComponentType} = 42

It is missing a closing parenthesis.

Well - I actually tried using the advanced alert manager on the server and it directs me to the webpage!

I launched the executable manually, however i no longer see any of the fields that apply to SAM like Application etc...

I did update the typo - see below, it seems to get an error. Thanks for taking a look!
