At least once a day an alert will trigger for the SMTP service being down on one of our 4 Exchange CAS servers. Most days there are alerts for 2 or 3 of the CAS servers. i have looked on teh CAS servers and have never found the service to actually have stopped and restarted. This is becoming an issue because we have alerting configured to send a text to our cell phones. This morning at 3:30 my phone let me know that the SMTP service was down and then 2 minutes later let me know it was back up. Is this a false alert and if so, why is it limited to the CAS servers?
