SWJobSchedulerSvc.exe Memory Leak?

Has anyone experienced an issue where the SWJobSchedulerSvc.exe program has taken up all of the free memory in their primary polling engine? My poller crashed today and when I logged into it this .exe was taking up 1.133 Gb of memory. After I shut down all services on both polling engines and rebooted them, it's only using 62 mb.

I'm running NPM 10 RC3, NTA 3.6 and just installed NCM 6.0 RC2 this past week. I've captured the Diagnostics file and opened a ticket with Support (ticket #163333), but I wanted to see if anyone else has had this experience.

I think we have the same problem

Did Solarwinds support provide a solution to the SWJobSchedulerSvc memory leak problem? We seem to be having the same issue on our NPM 10 SP1 system.

Hi James--

I checked the support logs and found solution for you to try:

Stop all services.
Replace the Job Engine file.
Repair the Job Engine.
Repair the Information Service.

Replace Job Engine

Stop all Orion services from Orion Service Manager.
Go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SolarWinds\JobEngine\Data\JobEngine35.sdf file and rename it to JobEngine35_OLD.sdf
Create a copy of C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SolarWinds\JobEngine\Data\JobEngine35 - Blank.sdf one and rename it to JobEngine35.sdf.
This way you have the old one to revert back to and you always have a blank copy in case issue reoccurs.
Right click on properties of the JobEngine35.sdf you have created and untick the read only box and click ok.

How to Repair Job Engine
- Open C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SolarWinds\Installers.
- On a 2008 system, this will be under C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Installers.
- Run the Jobengine.msi and select Repair.

How to Repair Information Service
- Open C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SolarWinds\Installers.
- On a 2008 system, this will be under C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Installers.
- Run the InformationService.msi and select Repair.
