multiple ports, multiple servers, on the same external IP ?? ??

We are using one external IP with port forwarding set up on the firewall to go to 4 individual servers. The want to pull SNMP data on those four external servers, however the problem is when I set up that external IP Solarwinds naturally says it is already being monitored once I get the first server entered. Is there a way to do this ?

Example...

External IP 98.xx.xx.xx has a firewall rule for ports 10000,12000,13000, and 14000 forwarded to individual private IP address servers behind the firewall. I don't think Solarwinds will allow you to use one "node" IP with a bunch of port forwarding going to different servers....

Orion will allow you to define multiple hosts that resolve to the same IP once per-polling engine. Meaning if you have three additional pollers you can add the same host four times (one on the primary, and one on each additional polling engine).

We only have one polling engine. I talked to support on the phone. I was told that using multiple port forwarding for one external IP is something that has been tossed around in development but that is about it.

We have one polling engine that we want to use to poll the same external IP on four different firewall ports that are forwarded to four unique servers behind the firewall.

If possible you may want to consider getting some additional IP addresses and doing a NAT for these hosts. Alternatively you can do a simple site-to-site VPN, or even leverage Hamachi since it's free.
