Incorrect Port Speeds
clisser
We have encountered problems with the discovered port speed on interfaces. This has occurred on a Cisco 6513 switch as well as sub interfaces on a Cisco 7206 VXR router. Is there any fix for this besides manually adjusting the port speed?

Have checked the actual config on the port of the switch/router?
If you have manually changed the port bandwidth statement on your router, Orion will use the configured value.

In this case we don't manage the devices ourselves. I can't say for sure on the switch, but I just spoke with the client who has the router and he assures me the subinterface bandwidths are listed correctly. Is this a bug others have been encountering or do you think it is just a config problem on the routers/switches?

I have found that if a port is in the down state when a switch is discovered it will set the interface to 10m, and not readject it self when the port is brought up and changes speeds to 100m.

Joef is right about an interface being set to 10Mbps when it is down at the time of discovery. What I've done is manually redicover the interface when it gets brought up and the port speed gets corrected.
