NCM 7.1.1, Additional Polling Engine, and FoE (Addtl Polling Engine License)

Hi Folks,

I just wanted to share a case I have open with SW support relating to installing FOE on an additional polling engine that has the NCM 7.1.1 additional polling engine components installed. The short story is it does not install. It see's the NCM APE components and thinks it is not a POLLER thus does not allow the license to be applied.

So, if you are going to be upgrading or installing, please be aware of this. The current work around is to remove the NCM APE components until a new version of FOE can be released. ETA is unknown.

I reported this over two months ago to Solarwinds with 7.1, there is the posting I made shortly after that: (Timetable for NCM 7.1 additional poller + FOE support?)

Interesting. I bet the slow down on updates is due the product being developed by NeverFail and then licensed by SolarWinds and rebadged. My hope is more tickets and visibility will increase the chance of a quicker fix.

The current work around is to uninstall NCM 7.1.1 from the APE's. That is what support told me at least. I will enjoe a more proper work around.
