Monitoring NTier'd Applications

In looking at the templates and trying to create my own for application monitoring, I cannot figure out how to monitor an Application as a whole. I am talking about an NTier application that has a presentation server, application server and database. I can create each separate section and assign to each server, but I want to do this as a whole.

Is there a way to group these point tests into a solution for end to end monitoring, alerting and troubleshooting?

we are currently working on this. See this post. "Containers" are what you are looking for.

Thanks for the update. WOW I'm really surprised you are just getting to the application monitoring now. We will have to look at another product as we cannot wait for a future release, and there are many good application monitors out there now that treat an application as an end to end (web, app server, DB) over many servers.

Keep down the upgrade path.
