Ping, again

I saw the previous discussions regarding ping/icmp - but the posts are old so -

Is there now a option so up/down status is decided by ONLY SNMP, and not using ping?

If not, when will this feature be implemented?

There is not on option for determining status by SNMP, we still rely on ping. It's on the list of features we want to implement, but it is a very long list.

Add me to the list of people nagging you about up/down with snmp only. Actually, it's not me; I've got a grumpy DMZ admin who is giving me grief.
