Monitoring bandwidth use in SAM via SNMP Bond

Hey All,

Is it possible to monitor the bandwidth use via SNMP Bond 0 / Bond 1 in the SAM?

I have added these via the real time explorer but it is just showing the CPU/Memory usage.

I really do not need all the functionality of NPM so do not want to shell out on this for something so simple.

Anyone able to help?

Monitoring network Interfaces statistics via SNMP is really one of the primary functions of NPM, and is not something SAM does natively. However, if you're up for a challenge you could gather seemingly similar information in SAM using the SNMP Monitor, or a custom Linux/Unix Script Monitor in Perl. In fact, the folks in the may be willing to help create such a script.

If you'd rather go the SNMP monitor route the following KB article should help get you started identifying the OIDs NPM uses to collect statistics. Please note that these are partial OIDs and a MIB walk will need to be done against the device to provide the full OID branch for the specific interface you're wanting to collect data for. For example, if you wanted to monitor Interface Out Octets for the following server you'd use the OID "1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.16.1". The .1 at the end designates the first interface in this server.
