APMServiceControl.Exe Error

I am trying to implement an alert using the APMServiceControl.exe and I am getting the error as seen on the attached screenshot. 

 

Please help. Or at least point me in the direction where I can find the logs for the error.

Hello Jason,

In one of the following location you should find the "APM.BusinessLayer.log" file:

(Win Server 2008) c:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Logs\APM

(Win Server 2003) c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Solarwinds\Logs\APM

 

In this file you should find two ERROR records at the time when you test ApmServiceControl.exe console application. The first ERROR log should tell you more detail about the issue. For example:

2011-06-13 08:59:43,913 [13] ERROR SolarWinds.APM.Common.MessageUtilities - Exception caught in method GetComponent
System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: No component with an id of 4444
...
2011-06-13 08:59:43,931 [13] ERROR SolarWinds.APM.Common.MessageUtilities - Exception caught in method ControlService
System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[SolarWinds.APM.Common.ApmFaultContract]: GetComponent failed, check fault information. (Fault Detail is equal to SolarWinds.APM.Common.ApmFaultContract).
