How to create custom application views for different Groups of users

Our SolarWinds expert left the company leaving no one behind with any experience. I and a few others are trying to cover his loss to the company. I am trying to learn how to create custom application views for specific nodes that a group is interested in. Is there any easy to read documentation or guide that can assist me to create these views for each group? Thanks in advance.
