Script to count number of instances of a process in windows

Freinds,

I am trying to monitor the number of users connected to an Oracle application server, using windows scripting to count the number of instances of frmweb.exe.

I am new to scripting and would really appretiate if some body can help me out to writing this script.

Is that number--# of connected users--stored in the DB itself? Lots of management data are stored in the DB. If so, you can actually get that information by using the Oracle User Experience Monitor, which will run a SQL query against the database and return the result as your statistic.

Thank you very much for the suggestion.

I tried the following query,

select count(*) from v$session where username is not null

Which will show the total number of users connected to the database, but I am trying to find out the users connected through a specific application server. We got 5 Oracle 10G application servers and 3 Database servers working as a RACK setup.
