Can a Custom Property be made mandatory for adding a node?

I have created custom properties under my nodes for entering in maintenance contract numbers and serial numbers.

Is there a way to make these custom properties a mandatory item so when others add nodes it forces them to input this information?

Sounds like a feature request

Because I think this functionality is not yet present on the most recent version of Orion

Though you can "mandate" other user to fill it out otherwise you'll break their neck

i would like this and also the pull downs when adding a node with the various current values of a custom property but with the ability to enter new text too of course

This would be a nice feature. Also, as I have mentioned before having a drop down option: the ability to pre-define a list of options that are then selected from a drop-down. This would reduce my concern about people mis-typing something resulting in no alerts on an issue.
