Network Atlas Feature Request - Gauges / Custom HTML

It would be great if you could have gauges on maps.

Clicking on a an interface object it should give you a drop down menu. (Options are good) Ideally you would have some of the following options:

1. View Interface Gauge (The gauge presented would give you the option to choose if you wanted it as% or bps etc)

On a side note you could offer the option to the user to automatically provide certain dynamic details under a comment entry.. such as speed uptime.. current %/bps utilization etc..

So help me understand this better. It sounds like the root issue is to get to data without drilling down to the next page right? What key data that is not in the hover over/pop ups that you would like to see?

Its not so much a matter of avoiding drilling down but maximizing what is available from the viewable map before you drill down. The more information that is available the better.

For instance i am exploring the options for making a map to illustrate our edge topology and it seems that it would be helpful to be able to add gauges and perhaps some actual charts. (Charts that don't waste all the space above and below) What i had planned to do was place gauges and charts on the left hand side. Taking up as much as perhaps 1/3 of the map but certainly not more. From a distance it would be easier to see specifically critical information (Beyond a status of yellow or red)

As far as the ideas for drop down options i think any time you give the user options you are likely creating a solution that will meet more than one particular set of needs.. which is a good thing.

If this description doesn't give you the idea.. let me know and i will create a mock up

We would very much like to be able to add Percent Utilization Gauges to our primary map as well. This would really help us out on having a quick way of glancing at the map and seeing the load on our mission critical links. The information is certainly there if you drill down, but this information is critical enough for us to be on the main map display.
