Absolutely! I use it all the time myself.
Yeah, same here with localhost and/or local\account.

Right now just adding/updating local monitoring accounts to non-domain servers with those powershell scripts. Could do just about anything once you import the ActiveDirectory module - I've done strange things such as enumerate AD computer objects and insert the OS and Service Pack into IPAM custom properties. Anything is possible if you have enough time and your boss is out of the office.
