After upgrading from 9.1 SP5 to 9.5 I had an issue with two older types of devices.
Synoptics RPSUs (Power Supply Units for ethernet switches) and Orinoco/Agere Systems wireless access points.
Right after the upgrade, all RPSUs management interfaces went down. Also, many of the access points started rebooting and acting funny. It seems that the SNMP packet from Orion may have changed somehow. In a packet capture it looks like a SNMP v1 packet is asking for a v2 MIB file. I don't know if that is the actual issue or not.
Before the upgrade, the devcies were configured to use SNMPv1 and the setting is the same now.
The problems directly coincide with the upgrade of both polling engines. I also applied Orion NPM 9.5 SP1 right after upgrading to 9.5.
Anyone have any problem similar in your upgrade? Our Security Manager see's this as a great denial of service discovery!!!
