Hello Everyone,
I am looking at the map feature in NPM. How does it work and how do you set it up to fit your evironment?
Hi there!
Check out this link for a step-by-step guide: Create Network Atlas maps
I sent a picture of what mine looks like right now. All i did was pick a background and this is a little confusing to me.
I am wanting to create my WAN environment.
Would you have time to show me how it works and to help set it up for me? This is pretty confusing for a first time user.
The above posted link does contain all the information on how to create a map.
But basically you can either get it to autodraw a map for you or just make one yourself. To make one yourself, open a New map and drag in the nodes you wish to display on this map. You then use the "straight line" button and create a line between the devices where applicable.
So you can create something like this (I've removed all the labels in this example). I've used groups in this example to represent different sites.
how do you get it autodraw?
We use it for detailed maps of the server rooms and the multiple locations we have. I create a map in visio then use the network atlas to place where the nodes are located.
I created a custom map using Atlas. Using Atlas you draw out the network how you see fit. I put all my sites into a hierarchy showing the status of the worst at each site.
