Active Directory 2003-2008 Service and Counters

Hello Everybody,

at first excuse my english. Here is my problem. We have changed in two of our domains sysvol replication to dfsr. Now some of the Components in "Active Directory 2003-2008 Services and Counters" are marked as down replication: change-order-recieve, change-order-sent and usn-records-accepted. APM Version is 4.2.0 Thanks for any help.

Correct. After a little research I was able to confirm that on up-level domain controllers, SYSVOL replication is performed using DFS replication, and NTFRS replication is disabled altogether. This is the reason why these counters don't exist in Perfmon. For now you can safely disable these items in the application template. We're tracking this internally as FB84132 and will be taking a closer look into this to see what we can do.

The performance counters on your domain controller may need to be rebuilt but to troubleshoot the issue further I recommend opening the Windows Perfmon on the Orion server and connecting to the remote Domain controller. Select the "FileReplicaSet" category and then the "Change Orders Received" counter. You should see an "_Total" instance. If you can't find the category, counter or instance then there's something wrong with the performance counters on the monitored remote host. What's the error being returned by APM? It can be seen by mousing over the orange "info" graphic next to the component monitor with issues.

Hello,

thank you for help. There is no "FileReplicaSet" in the Perfmon and therefore no "ChangeOrderReceived" counter. Mousing over says "Bad Input parameter. Category does not exist" But Iam astonished. It happens on all new DC's who are 2008R2 and since they changed to Domainlevel 2008R2and replication switched to DFSR Perhaps there are no more category named "File ReplicaSet"
