First let me start by saying that I absolutely love APM 2.0, but as with most things there's always room for improvement. Before I go and create an RFE, I'm really hoping someone can tell me how to accomplish what I so desperately need.
First and foremost, I need the ability to create an "APM Application" Advanced Alert that includes exactly what monitor is reporting down in the email sent to the engineers. I couldn't possibly create "APM Component" Advanced Alerts for all my Applications, and "APM Application Advanced Alerts have been working great, minus that one critical piece of information. Essentially, the engineers need to know what service, process, or port monitor is reporting down as part of the email that is sent for the application being down.
Secondly, the APM response messages when a monitor is "down" is critical information that doesn't seem to be recorded historically anywhere. If it is, I can't seem to find it. This information only seems to appear in the magic orange "info" box when a monitor is "down". This information is crucial to have when troubleshooting sporadic intermittent issues and you simply can't get to the Orion web interface in time to see what the error is before the monitor returns to "up" and the message is cleared. Ideally this "info" would also be available as a variable to include in the message that goes to the engineers.
Some examples of the information contained in the magic orange "info" box are as such.
The service was not found
Unexpected error occurred. No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it
Network connection failed
Can anyone tell me if any of this is possible today or if they're good candidates for an RFE?
