Hi, how can I verify the APM database on SQL server? I am able to locate the NTA and NMP databases but not APM. I appreciate any help. Thanks,
When the modules have been installed together on the same server they all use the same database. The ONLY exception to that rule is NCM which uses it's own database. To see which database and database server NCM is using open the "Orion Network Configuration Manager" Win32 application and click <help -> about>. You should see something similar to the screenshot below.
If they are using the same Web Console, then APM is on the same Database as NPM and NTA. If they are using a separate Website, then run the Configuration Wizard, select Database then Next, and you will see the SQL Server, select Next again and you will see the Database that it connects to.
Thanks Sean for your prompt response. We are using one web console for all but the NMP and NTA has separate Database. The APM is also running using the same web console. How is it possible for APM to be installed on both NPM and NTA while there two separate databases?
It's not possible for NPM and NTA to use separate databases. NTA requires NPM. APM can run in a standalone mode with it's own database and web console, but if you're web console is unified then you're using the same database.
To see what database server and database name your Orion installation is using go to <Settings -> Database Details> and you'll see something similar to the image below.
Thank you so much for your great feedback. My last question
We have the following SolarWinds product and modules:
NMP (requires database along with SQL server user acct)
NPM settings, I can see database settings for NPM
NCM (requires database along with SQL server user acct) ???
NCM Settings, there is not database settings for NCM
NTA (cannot run on it's own database)..
NTA settings, I can see database settings for NTA
APM (requires it's own database along with SQL server user acct OR can use NPM database along with SQL acct)
APM Settings, there is not database settings for APM
Would you please clarify the above consern/questions. I truly appreciate your feedback very much. Best, Ziba
