Unable to start NCM Informatioin service

I have upgraded to NCM v5. I have tried to logon via the web console and I get an error that the NCM Informatioin service is required to be restarted.

I have tried starting this service manually, however the service fails to start. The sylog and polling services will not start either.

Any ideas as to what could be causing this???

The error I am getting on the web console is below

Orion NCM Web Site Error
	SolarWinds Orion NCM Information Service is not responding. Please restart this service

Can you open up the Windows Event Viewer (under Administrative Tools) and check to see if you see any errors or exceptions?

Hello,

I too am getting this error and was wondering if you had found a resolution? I have an open case with Solarwinds Support, but it's been two days with no update.

The Solarwinds Orion NCM Information Service service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for the Solarwinds Orion NCM Information Service service to connect.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Can you run a netstat from the command line to see if anything else is using port 17777? Also, do you have a Windows Firewall or Symantec Endpoint Protection installed that might be blocking this service from starting?

We too are also having this problem how was it resolved??

When I do netstat I get this:

TCP    SOLAR:17777            xxxxxxx:31081 TIME_WAIT
TCP    SOLAR:17777            xxxxxxx:31082 TIME_WAIT
TCP    SOLAR:17777            xxxxxxx:31083 TIME_WAIT
TCP    SOLAR:17777            xxxxxxx:31084 TIME_WAIT

When we pull up Windows events we get this:

There was no endpoint listening at net.tcp://127.0.0.1:17777/SW/InformationService/Cirrus/ssl that could accept the message. This is often cause by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details. (Our box has multiple IP's assigned to it)
