Virtual Machine sends alerts up and down but it is not

Has anyone else seen this? We have one virtual server (2008 R2) that alerts that it is down and then back up within seconds. I know that the server does not actually go down at any point. I have been remoted in and working on the server at a time when Orion sends an alert that the server is down. Interestingly this server also has high CPU at least once or twice a day as well, sometimes for hours in the evening. This appears to be related to NetBackup at that point, but I have also seen it at other times.

Basically, this server runs smtp, dns, dhcp and that is all.

Ideas?

Not sure where is the problem.

-Can we check the following information by logging into the database and run the following query in the "Nodes" table.

Select vendor, entitytype,ip_address From Nodes where IP_Address='x.x.x.x'

-Then check for the Alert condition.

I will check this later this afternoon. I'm assuming I put the correct IP address in the query for the server.
