Incorrect Alert message

I defined an alert to trigger when an interface goes down. When that happens, I have the correct event, saying that the interface is down. Yet, the alert message is "The interface [...] status has changed to 'up'". When the interface goes back up, the alert message tells me that the status has changed to down.
Could anyone help me fix this please?
