Is anyone out there monitoring JE22 memory usage?
You could use the generic "Java Application Server" templates or the templates designed for specific Java Application Servers.
The following blog post describes in some detail how to monitor Java Enterprise Edition using JMX. SAM even includes a JMX browser where you can select the components you wish to monitor.
As for being the network guy, I feel ya. This systems stuff is just a hobby of mine.
Have you configured SNMP or JMX for monitoring the Java Application Server?
At this point we have a tool Opnet AppInternals (used to be Panorama) that has an agent on 25 of our systems that they want to replace with Orion. But to do this they need to monitor JE22 memory usage statistics.
So if JMX is needed then I will let them know.
SNMP is on all of our servers so thats not a problem.
Would I use the JMX template? If so how do I know which part is JE22?
Can you tell I'm a network guy and not a server guy? :-)
