I'm looking to implement the SAM Exchange Web Services Round Trip E-mail template and I'm a little unclear on how it works & the actual requirements to get it operational. Some basic questions I have:
1. How does it work; as in what's the logic behind it?
a. Does it log into a specific Exchange mailbox or just leverage an SMTP relay connector?
b. What ports/services/functionality does the monitor test?
2. Assuming it needs a mailbox (which it appears to use) what kind of privileges does it need?
a. Do most users leverage a service account for this or just toggle between users who seem to have issues?
3. Do we need to install a mail client (Microsoft Outlook) somewhere for it to use?
a. Assuming it does where does this go? I'm sure it varies but would loading it on a polling engine be ok to test mail flow of remote locations to a centrally located mail server?
