Emailing a report with charts

I might be SOL here. I looked around, tried, and there does not seem to be a way. But I wanna throw this in anyways just in case.

I want to be able to automate emailing a chart (i.e. interface utilization, errors and discards) on a regular basis, like at the ned of the day.

Is there a way? Thanks.

Rich,
No problem. The Report Scheduler was written for exactly that purpose.
It can print or E-Mail charts, views, and reports on a scheduled basis.
You can download it from the "Additional Components" link in the "Customer Area."

Login here support.solarwinds.net/.../default.cfm and then select "Additional Components" from the left side.

PS. you must have up-to-date maintenance to download Additional Components.

This all sounds great DON, but has yet to work for me!

I tried several tips I see here on the forum and I'm still scratching my head as to why this thing refuses to email me a report.
At the very top of the scheduler it shows that ,supposedly, the report was sent or executed. I know my setting i.e. mail gateway and NT logins etc are correct as I do get emailed alerts from the system.
The one thing I'm not sure of is how the username/pass/ domain etc, is being used. I'm simply using my NT admin login...as suggested on a post in this forum.
Shed some light as to why this seemingly simple process is so difficult to get going, And also any suggestions!

What do you see in the 'runorionjob.log' file in the Solarwinds directory?
This should give you an indication of where it is failing.

I had to redo all the reports when I rebuilt the server from Win2K to Win2k3.
Previously I could use the 'directlink' account with no user login for the webpage authentication. With win2k I had to add the local admin account to Orion Account manager in order for it to e-mail out the Reports.

(edit): I just checked the exact setup in my Report Scheduler - Web login is blank,
NT login has a local admin account username & password, which is also setup in the Orion Account manager web admin page like this; server\admin-username, password

All other users use Windows AD passthru authentication to access the website; domain\username

I find the local Orion web login accounts no longer work when using Passthru Authentication in IIS.

This I is what I see for all attempts by SW to email any the reports. I'm copying this directly off the log txt file:

Not quite sure where the "Invalid syntax" is in it's path. I renamed a couple of the network stats reports differently but the same result.

.......Hang on here!!! NG, I just re-read your post again. get a little granular with the setup part....break it down for me!.

On the General tab..I'm using my Win2k Server admin login user/pass combination

On my Web login tab, I have Both check boxes checked (Retrieve a printable version of the page and also Send orion the username and password in the URL. Now, I'm going to remove everything off this tab per your suggestion. Now, on the NT logging tab, I'm using the admin NT login to the win2k server, however I do not have an account on the Orion web site with that same NT admin username/pass are you saying I need to create one???.... I try this also in the mean time. let me know whatever you decipher from the error msg

The URL you have specified is incorrect.
It should look something like this;

orionserver/.../chart.asp
or
127.0.01/.../chart.asp

You want to browse to the Orion webpage which has the report you want to send with the web browser. You can either copy & paste the URL from your browser, or use the built-in Report Scheduler browser (ellipses button) to specify the report you want.

Check the error.log in the ...\NetPerfmon V7 directory after you test run a report.
It will tell you what went wrong.

Much much thanks for your help and follow thru!!!
Having read your last reply it just clicked. ......One thing found was an admin error (mine) the local server IP configured under settings had an extra dot hence the invalid syntax error. Once corrected, I made the admin account on Orion the same as the NT admin login account.
I could then view the login page, browse to reports, run the report and select to use that report URL. The test email went immediatley.
