SFTP/SCP Server on Windows server 2008 R2

Hello,

When I try to upload a file using sftp, I am having almost 100% CPU usage on the server running the SCP/SFTP server. The throughput on transfers is really low as well 30-60Kb.

When using ftp on the same server I get normal cpu usage and close to wire speed transfer (100Mb)

The server is spec is as below:

Win Server 2008 R2 standard - Service pack 1

Processor Xeon X5660 @ 2.8GHz

1G RAM

64-bit operating system

Would the sftp/scp server need to run in a compatibility mode?

I'm curious about this since we recently discovered this where we are using this. Has there been a workaround for this (other than not using SFTP?)

This will cause issues as this server will be backing up multiple devices and large configuration files ~150M.

The system would not be usable during that time. This server is runing on a VM .

I am trying to understand what would be causing the CPU to ramp up.

Is the SFTP/SCP software compatible 64bit?

Thank you for pointing this out, we have never noticed that. Does it cause any issues?
