How do I enable Exchange 2010 performance counters on a target server?

If I understand correctly, Performance counters are not enabled by default on an Exchange 2010 server. That must be true because I am getting numerous errors for the perf counter monitors in the Exchange 2010 template.

Does anyone have a link to the procedures for enabling these performance counters on a server?

I'm not sure that performance counters on Exchange 2010 are disabled by default but they can sometimes become unavailable. Check this article to see how to fix them.
