SNMP Keep Alives

Last week the Data Engineering team was having trouble with SNMP and one of there Cisco switches so they asked me to stop polling it. I selected unmanage and stopped managing the device. However every 15mins the Orion Server was still sending SNMP requests to the device. Does Orion still do some basic SNMP pulling even after a device has been unmanaged? The only way to get it to stop was to delete the entire Node.

We have looked into this issue. Orion continues to do "Rediscovery" while a node is unmanged. This will result in some SNMP traffic.
A work-around would be to change the node that you want to stop polling to a static IP within Orion (Select Node in System Manager, then select Nodes->Node Details). From here you can change the IP to another IP (bogus, loopback, whatever). This will stop Orion from sending any SNMP traffic to the node. When you are ready to remanage the node, change it back to dynamic or the correct IP.

Thanks for feedback and the workaround David.
A "Disable/Enable All Polling" (like "UnManage/Manage") button would be good to have so the work-around is unnecessary. I, myself, would prefer to see checkboxes implemented rather than buttons.
