If you set up an alert and the action sets "Log the Alert to the NetPerMon Event Log" the message that will be configured will appear in the "Events" section in Orion?

It does, just as everyone else has stated. What you can do, is use the 'Insert Variable' button (on the message section) to insert dynamic details that you want to be included in the log. Keep it simple so it is easy to read, but informative and meaningful so on review it does not raise a question.
