Volume index for virtual memory changing from time

Hi,

we're monitoring several W2K servers and did notice that, not reguarly, the volume index of the virtual memory is shifting from one value to another, sometimes doing twice and returning to the old index value.

Does anybody knows how to fix that one ?

Yes, I have seen that as well, however I stopped monitoring the virtual memory on all the Win2k servers, since there was never any data collected. All servers showed 0 Mb of virtual memory in use. Since I am only interested in the network devices, I never bothered submitting a trouble ticket to Solarwinds Support for this. Apparently our Win2k support group has never bothered with this either, as no one has mentioned this problem
to me.
Let me know if you get this working, and perhaps I'll have them try monitoring it on their servers again.

Hi NG,

it's mostly the same: on all W2K servers the virtual memory is increasing slowly until you reboot the system.

Example: Our MRTG server has 1Gb RAM and the virtual is starting at 300MB going to 450 in 60 days, same picture for all systems running similar DELL hardware.

Only the NT4 system with MIB enhanced for the Orion moniroting shows no virtual memeory at all.
