In version 9.5 or above, do I have the ability to add notes to nodes i.e. (maintenance record & history)?

You can pretty easily create a text custom property for all nodes on your network. For more information, see "Creating Custom Properties > Creating a Custom Property" in the SolarWinds Orion NPM Administrator Guide.
