quote:Originally posted by kbaumannDoes anyone know of a way to import nodes from a text file list?I have about 400 remote routers, all connected via dual PVCs. If I use the autodiscovery to scan subnets for nodes, typically one or the other sub interfaces is listed as the node address. In the event that one interface is reported as down, the entire node is reported as down despite the dual path scenario I've described. To further complicate matters, most (but not all) of these routers have dial backup capabilites. What I'd really like to do is discover all nodes by the IP address of the e0 interfaces and then monitor the individual interfaces and generate a node down alert only if both (or all three in the case of dial backup) interfaces are down. The simplest solution would be to use the seed file (I think). I've edited it following the example given, but haven't been able to get it to work thus far. Anyone else been able to make the seed file work??Thanks in advance...regards,Ken BaumannNetwork ServicesExtendicare Health Services
Still, the original question begs to be answered...is there a way to import a node list?It looks like the Network Discovery module can load in a Sonar list, but it'd be nice to load up a CSV file or something. It'll beat the pants off of entering about 2100 nodes by hand.// Ian Underwood - Service Management// Level 3 Communications
I have the same issue. I have 3 sources of nodes, CiscoWorks, Juniper firewall manager and a load of HP switches. I would like to put them into a *.txt or *.csv and import them.
Is this possbile in some why (including the suggested database edit)?
