Hello,
Was wondering if anyone has experienced this before. When doing a discovery. You click the poller you want the devices to be added too. In my case I specified the IP addresses. I clicked next it went to it's normal screen. But then pressing next on the other screen causing the page to spin for about a minute before it returns you to the main discovery page with everything reset to default. Going forward from this point works fine. But constantly every initial click into discovery it does that where it allows you to it up you click next it brings you to the next screen but clicking next from that point resets everything.
A little more information. This environment is brand new and we are testing it. I had it spec'd out and setup according to the recommendations given by solarwinds. Only deviation is that everything is virtual. And hooked up to SAN. I fought for physical but management on the windows side declined and basically said it's virtual on a SAN. I used the virutal recommendations by SolarWinds as well. Windows team stressed that they create a pool just for SolarWinds of Tier 1 storage which is a mix of 15k rpm sas drives and SSD's. They could not tell me RAID setup indicating that our storage infrastructure does not run on RAID but something similar.
Also, Even though it's brand new and has only 4 devices in it for testing the site is still slow. Comparing to our prod environment which is a version 12 and has thousands of devices monitoring, This new one is much slower. I added a config parameter provided by solarwinds for the information service v3. This help noticeably but still has periods of being slow. Now I do see compilers running in the background, it did say optimization failed of the website during config wizard. But I'm not sure if this is just an optimization issue or just something new in 12.0.1 causing the slow down. We are implementing an additional web server and it too is slow on the test environment.
I'm trying to iron all this out before we cut over from old to new. Since I have this test Window it's the perfect time to hammer everything out and ensure the most stable possible deployment when cut over happens ensuring fast site performance compared to old system and making sure everything else works.
Those on 12.0.1, I have applied all hotfixes too. And I'm willing to accept any feedback you might have to help me stabilize performance now while in testing. Would love it if I can get attention from anyone at SolarWinds to help too. I know they monitor Thwack every so often.
Thanks in advance for any help.
